Know Your Cabinet Line
Deerfield™ Assembled Cabinets have a state-of-the-art paint and finish line that is one of the top in the industry and completed in the USA.
Deerfield™ Lasting Touch Finish
Standard stain and pigmented base coat finishes have a 20-25 sheen semi-gloss top coat.
Utilizes both spray and wiped stains to insure maximum color uniformity and depth of grain enhancement.
We use advanced finish application technology to give our cabinets the beauty and durability for a lifetime of use.
Catalyzed Conversion Finish
The catalyzed finish forms a chemical barrier and a hard film to protect our cabinets from household chemicals, moisture and wear.
Maple and Cherry
Stain characteristics vary with different wood species, grains, and end cuts. Once the stain is applied it is hand wiped to remove excess stain. There can be small amount of residue build up in small notches and where door panels and frames come together. This is a normal part of the stain finish and cannot be prevented. No matter which species you choose, please keep in mind that no two pieces of wood are exactly the same. Stains are likely to exaggerate the difference between open and closed grains and other markings in wood. Grain variation and color change should be expected. As hardwood ages, it will darken when exposed to different types of light. Color differences or changes in wood can also be caused by exposure to harsh chemicals, extreme heat or other contributing external conditions. Based on independence testing, discoloration will occur to doors, drawers and cabinet parts after prolonged exposure to tobacco smoke. This is especially noticeable on white and other lighter finishes. However, we do not warranty any of our finishes against discoloration due to exposure to smoke.
Painted woods offer a classic look for your kitchen. Paint will develop hairline cracks in the finish, most notable around the joints. This is the result of natural expansion and contraction of the wood.
Deerfield™ Assembled Cabinets have a drawer box using 5/8” solid maple and English dovetail joints with a 1/4” fully captured plywood bottom. Deerfield™ Basic Care Tips
Kitchen Cabinets, just like fine furniture, should be dusted or vacuumed periodically depending on the amount of particulate matter that may have accumulated. Always dust with a polish-moistened or damp cloth, as dry dusting may scratch the surface. It is also a good practice to follow the grain of wood when dusting - wiping across the grain could cause scratches to appear if the dust contains grit. Residues such as smoke, cooking vapors or body oils can be cleaned with a damp cloth with a small amount of furniture cleaner. Remember to use a clean soft cloth such as an old T-shirt, cheesecloth, dishtowel, flannel or chamois with no snaps or buttons that may scratch the surface.
- 1. Wipe up spills, splatters and water spots as they occur - keep the cabinets dry.
- 2. Clean as needed with a soft, lint free cloth. Use a mild detergent or soap and warm water.
- 3. Dry surfaces immediately with a soft cloth.
- 4. Avoid using a dishcloth or sponge - it could contain remnants of grease or detergents.
- 5. Do not use products with bleach, ammonia or abrasive additives.
- 6. Never use scouring pads, steel wood or powdered cleaners.
- 7. Do not allow oven cleaners to come in contact with wood finishes.
- 8. Avoid placing small kitchen appliances where heat is directed onto cabinet surfaces.
- 9. Avoid draping damp clothes or dishtowels over cabinet doors - excessive moisture can cause permanent damage.
Deerfield™ Collection kitchen cabinets are constructed using Northern Hardrock Maple or North Central Cherry (MANUFACTURED IN THE USA). Graining differences, as well as normal color change can be expected. Wood species in all finishes will exhibit color change when exposed to different types of light. Color differences in wood are caused by variations in minerals found in the soil in which the tree was grown and the absorption of these minerals.
End grain surfaces and softer areas of the wood may accept more stain and often appear darker than other surfaces. This is a natural reaction when finished wood product and potential variances cannot be controlled. Additionally, every wood species exhibits other characteristics, including: knots, pinholes, sap runs and darkening with age. It is the beauty and nature of wood to have these characteristics, as well as natural variations in graining and color which will be present throughout our cabinetry.
Deerfield™ comes with a limited lifetime warranty!
