Clearing Cache & Cookies


Android

Start your browser.

Tap Menu, and then tap More.

Select Settings.

Under "Privacy settings", select Clear cache, Clear history, or Clear all cookie data as appropriate, and then tap OK to accept (or Cancel to cancel) the deletion.

 

Chrome

In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

Select the items you want to clear (e.g., Clear browsing history, Clear download history, Empty the cache, Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data).

From the Obliterate the following items from: drop-down menu, you can choose the period of time for which you want to clear cached information.

To clear your entire cache, select the beginning of time.

 

Firefox

From the Tools or History menu, select Clear Recent History. If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.

From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.

Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose which elements of the history to clear.

Click Clear Now.

 

Internet Explorer 7

From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History...

To delete your cache, click Delete files...

To delete your cookies, click Delete cookies...

Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

 

Internet Explorer 8 and 9

Click Tools, and select Delete Browsing History...

Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.

Click Delete.

 

Internet Explorer 10

While in Internet Explorer, select “Tools” via the Gear Icon.

Select “Safety”, and then “Delete browsing history”.

Be sure to uncheck “Preserve Favorites Website Data”.

Check both “Temporary Internet Files” and “Cookies” and then click “Delete”.

Look for the confirmation message at the bottom of the window.

 

Internet Explorer 11

To delete cookies:

While in Internet Explorer, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap “Settings”. (If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click “Settings”)

Tap or click “Options”, and then, under “History”, tap or click “Select”.

Select the “Cookies” check box, and then tap or click “Delete”.

To delete temporary Internet files:

Once in Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon (Tools) on the very right-hand side of the browser.

Then click on “Safety”, and finally “Delete browsing history”.

In the “Delete browsing history” window that appears, uncheck all options except “Temporary Internet files and website files”.

Click on the “Delete” button.

The window will disappear and you may notice your mouse icon go busy for moment.

Once you notice the “finished deleting” message, or your cursor returns to normal, consider your temporary Internet files deleted.

 

Mobile Safari for iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)

From the home screen, tap Settings, and then tap Safari.

At the bottom of Safari's settings screen, tap Clear cookies and data, or Clear Cookies and Clear Cache.

Confirm when prompted.

 

Opera

From the Opera Menu, select “Settings”, and then “Delete Private Data”

In the box that opens, select the items you want to clear, and then click “Delete”

 

Safari

From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari...

From the menu, select the items you want to reset, and then click Reset.

As of Safari 5.1, Remove all website data covers both cookies and cache.

Clearing the Cache without clearing Cookies:

From the “Safari” menu, click on “Preferences”, and then “Advanced”.

Check the box for “Show Develop menu in menu bar”

From the drop down “Develop menu” select “Empty Caches”.



Enabling Cookies


Android

Start your browser.

Tap Menu, and then tap More.

Select Settings.

Be sure that "Accept Cookies" is check marked

 

Chrome

From the Chrome menu at the top right corner of the browser, select Settings.

At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings.

Under Privacy, select Content settings.

Manage cookie settings by checking or unchecking the options beneath the Cookies heading.

 

Firefox

From the Tools menu, select Options.

If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.

At the top of the window that appears, click Privacy.

To modify settings, from the drop-down menu under "History", select Use custom settings for history.

Then enable or disable the settings by checking or unchecking the boxes next to each setting:

To allow sites to set cookies on your computer, select Accept cookies from sites.

To specify which sites are always or never allowed to use cookies, click Exceptions.

 

Internet Explorer

From the Tools menu, or the Tools drop-down at the upper right, select Internet Options.

Click the Privacy tab.

Select Advanced.

To override the automatic cookie settings, click Override automatic cookie handling, and then make your selections using the radio buttons below.

Click OK to close each of the open dialog boxes.

 

Mobile Safari for iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)

From the home screen, tap “settings”, and then tap “Safari”.

Set “Block Cookies” to “Never”

 

Safari Safari 5.1 and later

In Safari, from the Safari menu, select Preferences...

In the Safari preferences window, click Privacy.

To set your preferences for accepting cookies, next to "Block cookies", select From third parties and advertisers, Always, or Never.

 

Safari 5.0.x and earlier

In Safari, from the Safari menu, select Preferences.

In the Safari preferences window, click Security.

To enable cookies, next to "Accept Cookies:", select Always or Only from sites you navigate to.
