A feature many homeowners ask for when building new or remodeling a kitchen is built-in storage for their wine collection and stemware. That's no surprise since as of last year, Americans topped France in wine purchases for the first time in history! Wine storage in the kitchen is a great asset in your kitchen, especially if you want to market it for resale in a higher end market.
There are a few different ways we can incorporate it into your design and have cabinets that are perfect for all your wine needs. When determining the size wine rack you need, I would take stock of how many bottles you would like to store. I would also suggest planning for more than you may have at the present moment. You can never have enough storage!
We can place the wine storage racks in the upper or lower cabinets, depending on your design. When placing it in the upper cabinets, it's always a nice idea to add the stemware storage right below it. That way, you will have everything you need all in the same spot. The stemware rack below the wine rack isn't a necessity and you can forgo it if you have enough storage for glasses in your cabinets.
Another place you can put your wine storage would be in a kitchen island. Depending on the size, you can store as many bottles as you\'d like. I wouldn't recommend storing your stemware in the island. The low location could make it susceptible to breakage.
While we don't provide refrigerated wine coolers, we can certainly help design cabinets around one, if that's what you want!
