Increase Your Kitchen StorageIncrease Your Kitchen Storage

One thing we often hear a need for is increased kitchen storage. And while this may not be one of the more glamorous kitchen design topics it is essential... The need for increased storage and counter-space is one of the reasons many people embark on kitchen renovation. Making the most of your space with smart storage solutions will make your kitchen feel larger, polished and more inviting. The key is getting rid of clutter! Here are a couple of ideas from our design team at Cabinets.com:

Incorporate Full Height Door Cabinets

Full height door cabinets are great for storing cookie sheets/baking trays, or any type of thin platter or item. This could also be a great way to store spices and oils so they are nearby when you reach for them. We\'ve also seen a tall and thin space like this transformed into a cubby to hold kitchen towels by including a pull-out towel rack.

Build in your Refrigerator with Tall Cabinets

Building in your refrigerator with pantry cabinets, not only gives you added storage, but is also a great way to make a small wall become a focal point. You could store small appliances in cabinets next to your pantry or take advantage of the space for food storage. Organization experts suggest using stackable, airtight, clear containers for dry goods. This way you get rid of all the unnecessary packaging (you can transfer the nutrition info to the front of the container). This seems a bit time consuming but it sounds like a good idea to me, maybe a weekend project!
