Creating an Affordable White Kitchen

Updated on: August 01, 2022

White kitchens have been popular for a few years now and I don't think the trend is going anywhere anytime soon! White kitchens fill our Pinterest feed and our favorite design magazines. Today, we will give you tips on how to create an affordable white kitchen!

Cabinet Choice

Your kitchen begins with your cabinet choice and there are a several different routes you can take when designing a white kitchen. A favorite by many of our customers is the Shaker style cabinet door. We offer a variety of Shaker style doors and at different price points. Our Bright White finish on the cabinets is the perfect pure white and a great backdrop to your kitchen!

Countertops

There's nothing like a beautiful, gleaming white counter on top of crisp, clean white cabinets. Marble is the more expensive choice, with its own downfalls in durability. There are some granite choices out there, such as "Bianco Romano" or "Casa Blanca", which offer the same distinctive veining as popular white marble choices. Your other choice would be a quartz surface which we did a whole post on the best alternatives for marble. Quartz varies in cost based on your selection so it’s best to check with your local showroom.

Hardware

When it comes to cabinet hardware, there are plenty of choices that are budget friendly. Determine what finish you would like your hardware to be so your choices can be narrowed down a bit. For a sleek look, a bar style pull in polished or brushed nickel is the best choice for you. They are a very affordable hardware option and available through many retailers, including through our company. Brass finishes are making a comeback and there are plenty beautiful examples online that can easily convince you to pick brass cabinet hardware. Since it is gaining in popularity, it is becoming widely available at a great price point.

Decorative Touches

All white kitchens are stunning but in order to make them look great and not bland is to add in just the right amount of decorative touches. An area rug is an opportunity to add color, pattern, and texture to the space and is also an affordable touch. I personally love antique or antique inspired rugs, which are so easy to find at many stores nowadays in great price points. You can warm up the space by selecting wood accents, such as a beautiful wood bowl to hold fruit, or a large wooden cutting board to keep on your counter.
